Since September 15th 2012 avid hockey fans have been awaiting the day that the lock out will end. Lucky for them, that day has come! On January 19th the official  NHL season began, with a 48 game schedule that will continue until April 27, 2013. For the Boston Bruins, 2011 Stanley Cup Champions, this season will be a bit different. Tim Thomas, the starting goalie, has taken the season off and will be replaced with Tukka Rask. Although Thomas led the team all the way to playoffs two seasons ago, I am looking forward to some quality “Tukka Time”. With a record of 3-1 so far this season the Boston Bruins are off to a great start, making their way once again to the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Game Recap:

Sat January 19, 2013          Bruins vs. Rangers              Final Score: BOS (3) – NYR (1)

Mon January 21,2013         Bruins vs. Jets                      Final Score: BOS (2) – WPG(1)

This blue eyed blonde is one of the youngest players in the league! Dougie Hamilton is gearing up for his first season in the NHL. After being drafted to the Boston Bruins in 2011, Hamilton has played in all 4 games contributing a total of 3 assists. This rookie is a smoke show on and off the ice!

Tyler Seguin

Seguin has been a fan favorite, especially among the ladies, after being drafted in 2010. Since playing in the NHL number 19 has scored a whopping 40 goals and 50 assists in a total of 159 games. This cutie is  the total package only living a short miles from the Bentley Campus. Next time you’re in downtown Boston keep an eye out for number 19!

With the Patriots out of the playoffs and Tom Brady on the back burner, thankfully the Boston Bruins and Tyler Seguin have returned!! With 44 games left you can expect a lot of action on and off the ice from these young and handsome players. To catch the rest of this season, be sure to keep an eye on the schedule which can be found here! Catch the next game at the Boston Garden on Tuesday January 29th against the New Jersey Devils!
