Living on a college budget can be tough, especially when you’re a shopaholic. That’s why I have created a list of clothing stores that offer some really great clothing for a reasonable price!
Marshalls
Offers a wide variety of products that are fairly cheap! The company prides itself on bringing the customer the best deals on large brand name products, and clothes are no exception. They have a wide array of brands like North Face, American Eagle, and even J. Crew.
T.J. Maxx
Almost identical to Marshalls, T.J. Maxx has a wide variety of items from home goods to clothes. It’s all about treasure hunting in this store. You never know what great products you will find here. They offer clothes for teens, women, men, and kids and also have a variety of shoes.
Plato’s Closet
Right here in Waltham, this store is one of my personal favorites. You can bring in old clothes and exchange them for cash, while also looking for a great deal. This is a great place to go if you’re looking to buy a dress for a formal or date night and you’re not looking to spend over $15. They also have a lot of athletic wear!
Goodwill
You can get shirts here for $1-$3! All the clothes are donated from people all over the Greater Boston area and you can even take your old clothes to donate. You can find some really good pieces at Goodwill (specifically the one in Davis Square). They also offer to round up your purchase and give the money to charity!
The Buffalo Exchange
This store, also in Davis Square, has some really great finds. Although their prices are a bit higher than Goodwill, they are still very reasonable. You can bring in your old clothes and exchange them for cash. A win-win! They have a lot of unique clothing and shoes and chances are you’ll find something from your favorite brand. Some of my favorite brands like Madewell are very prevalent on the racks!
The Garment District
This massive store has all kinds of clothing – and a lot of it. Right in Cambridge, this store has the largest amount of clothes I have ever seen in one place. In addition to racks of clothing that vary from decades to formal dresses, they also have ‘By the Pound’ shopping where they unload masses of clothes and people sort through them to find their favorite pieces. It is definitely an experience and you should give it a chance if you’re ever in the area!
