The Best and Worst Christmas Movie Ever: A Christmas Prince

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bentley chapter.

It is the first few days in November and I could feel the shift from Halloween Season to the Holiday Season. Mariah Carey’s All I Want for Christmas Is You is charting again and it’s only a matter of time before the Hallmark movies start airing hourly. Now that ~Spooky Season~ is officially over, it’s time to bring something to everyone’s attention. Last year, Netflix released its own Hallmark-esque film, A Christmas Prince. The film revolves around a young reporter named Amber who goes undercover as a tutor for the youngest of Aldovia’s royal family. Amber is trying to get her “big break” story from the royal family by discovering any dirty royal secrets, especially as this family is notoriously wholesome and good all around. However, Amber was not anticipating falling in love with the charming and kind prince, but she is now trapped within her lie and must keep her true identity from her love interest. While protecting her own secret, Amber must protect the Prince’s ~royal secret~ she uncovered in her research. Watch this movie on Netflix to find out the rest! In the words of Megan Call ’19, “It was one of the worst Christmas movies I’ve ever seen. I loved it, watched it 10 times.” So, go check it out!

Because A Christmas Prince was such a success, Netflix has decided to release the next installment with A Christmas Prince: The Royal Wedding to be released on November 30th. In this film, Prince Richard and Amber will be the next royal couple to be wed after Meghan Markle and Prince Harry! Tune in on November 30thto watch the royal nuptials and enjoy a Hallmark-ian Christmas movie surely to have a happy ending.
