When in Rome: Finale Edition

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BC chapter.

This week is my final week in Rome. I’m so excited to be heading back to America (there are so many things I miss about home), but I’m also really sad to be leaving Rome. I’ve loved this semester and it’s been such an incredible experience. I’ve learned so much about myself and I’ve seen so many amazing things and places.

Last weekend, we went to an AS Roma soccer game, which was so much fun. The fans are absolutely insane, and we spent the entire game yelling things we didn’t understand in Italian and laughing. Fans were waving gigantic flags and there was a giant torch lit in the stadium. Roma even won the game, which was super exciting! It was so fun and I may have even become a bit of a soccer fan.

This week is finals week, which means I’m spending all my time studying and packing. We’re going to try to hit the beach this weekend, and we’ve been trying to circle back to all our favorite restaurants and sites, as well as getting in some final souvenir shopping.

This semester has flown by, and leaving Rome will be really bittersweet, but I’m so excited to get back home and get back on campus for my senior year (sorry nope I’m not old enough for that)! Thanks to everyone that has followed along on my journey, and I hope you enjoyed reading about it as much as I enjoyed living it!

I am a Political Science major and Women's and Gender Studies minor at Boston College. I am an RA on campus and am involved in the Student Admissions Program. Since I am from Florida, I can legitimately say that I love long walks on the beach. I also love getting lost in a world fabricated by a novel, there is honestly nothing better.
