Want to Win Two Beanpots This Year?

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BC chapter.

Beanpot is definitely one of the best Boston traditions and something we here at BC look forward to each February. With our domination in the past few years and the incredible run our amazing men’s ice hockey team is on right now, I think it’s safe to say we got this one in the bag. But this year there is a second opportunity for some friendly competition between the four Beanpot schools: Relay For Life’s Beanpot Faceoff!

The Relay For Life committees at Boston College, Boston University, Harvard, and Northeastern have all teamed up to create a huge fundraising competition. The school to raise the most money for their Relay For Life event between Friday January 31st and the puck drop of the championship game on Monday February 10th will win the First Annual Beanpot Faceoff, achieving an exciting trophy, a major monetary stride in the fight against cancer, and some serious bragging rights. This is a great opportunity for each school to skyrocket our fundraising numbers as we approach our Relay events in March (BC’s is March 28th in the Plex).

The best way to help BC win this Beanpot is to sign up for BC’s Relay and start fundraising! The easiest and most effective way to fundraise is simply to ask. Send emails to family and friends telling them about your participation and what the fight against cancer means to you, post the link to your Relay page on your Facebook, and ask your friends to join your team.

We hope that this friendly competition and fundraising blitz will make an impact in finishing the fight against cancer. Now let’s show the other Beanpot schools that we’re the best, on and off the ice! Go Eagles! Go Relay!
