Thoughts We All Have when Running as Told by the Real Housewives

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BC chapter.

Running: some people thrive off of its endorphins while others would much rather stay in bed. No matter where you fall on the love-hate spectrum, it is inevitable that the Res will be packed in the upcoming weeks with people trying to get in shape before swimsuit season rolls around. So, if you choose to venture outside of your dorm, here are some thoughts we all have when going for a run…as told by the Real Housewives.

Why does she have to run faster than me? There is always THAT girl who happens to be decked out in the latest Lulu gear that doesn’t even seem to be breaking a sweat and is always passing you. She is just going for a run, but you see it as her mission to make you look bad. Either way, she’ll still probably beat you.

When can I stop? Once the skips on Pandora run out, we all come back to the reality that we are actually running and just that is enough to make you want to lie down.

I wonder what I look like right now. Sportswear ads give hopelessly false expectations of what you should look like when working out. Keeping a hair tie in is hard enough, let alone trying to look cute.

What food should I eat after this? Because eating fries while still in your workout clothes just feels right.

I only have to run until I pass that cute boy to show that I’m athletic… then I can go lay on that bench.

Why is that mom hotter than me? There is always that one mom that defies age and gives us unrealistic goals, all while pushing a baby carriage.

DO NOT FALL. Especially at a place like the Res, it is likely you will run into at least one person you know, making it the least ideal place to face plant.

Happy running!

Hi! I'm Shannon Brink and I'm currently a freshman at BC. I'm from a small town in New Jersey, and I love being outdoors and traveling with friends and family. I'm the youngest of three, and living in a male dominated house where football typically takes over the dinner conversation, it's refreshing to have an outlet to talk about things that genuinely interest me and are relevant to my life as a clueless freshman trying to learn the ropes of college.
Blake is a senior at Boston College and is pursuing Biology and Pre-Med, as well as the perfect slice of pizza. She is so excited to be a co-Campus Correspondent along with Emily this year! As well as being a writer for Her Campus BC, she is also a member of the Girls Club Lacrosse team, the Public Health Club, and is a physics tutor on campus.
