I’m a firm believer in the saying “Treat yo self.” Whether I’ve bombed a test, or eaten pasta and fries for dinner four days in a row, I always turn to take-out to #treatmyself. The go-to for college students at BC and across the nation is Dominos. While I’m always willing to indulge in Dominos on a Saturday night (more like Sunday morning), I’ve also grown to appreciate other local eateries that are kind enough to bring food to my doorstep. Listed below are some suggestions for the best restaurants and dishes in the area that I’ve tried and think are (almost) as good as Dominos!

Indian

Curry House: $20 minimum with free delivery

●      Chicken Tikka Masala- a classic curry that is great for people who have never had Indian before

●      Naan- a doughy bread that’s good for soaking up curry

●      Vegetable Korma- it says vegetables so it’s healthy right?

●      Aloo Gobi- potatoes and cauliflower for those that don’t like the vegetable option that has nutrients

Thai

Four Spoons Thai: $20 minimum with $3 delivery

●      Pad Thai- a classic thin noodle dish with a peanutty sauce

●      Drunken Noodles- a thick and spicy noodle dish

●      Vegetable Crispy Spring Rolls- deep fried veggies: the best of both worlds!

●      Massaman Curry (order rice separately)- peanutty curry that’s great with tofu

Italian

Fiorella’s Express: $10 minimum with $2 delivery

●      Chicken Nicoise- sautéed chicken with salad and citrus dressing

●      Veal Parmigiana- sounds fancy, tastes even fancier

●      Garlic Bread Sticks- Dominos-esque

●      California Wrap- like a better tasting version of the wraps in Mac (and it doesn’t fall apart)

Chinese

Noodle Stix: $8 minimum with $3 delivery

●      Pork Dumplings- because why don’t they exist here?

●      Mala Crispy Chicken- spicy crispy chicken

●      Veggie Lo Mein- surprisingly not greasy!

●      General Tso’s Tofu- a healthy version of the classic General Tso’s chicken

No matter how hard I try, I can never really quit Dominos. When we do breakup, however, I try to be as adventurous as possible with my takeout options to put some distance between us. If you’re willing to try new stuff, and find that pizza isn’t going to cut it (pizza puns intended) then give these guys a try!
