In viewing this year’s SAG Awards red carpet, we were surprisingly let down by the fashion choices made by our favorite stars. While there was a small minority of fashion hits, they were overwhelmed by the amount of embarrassing faux pas. Below is a satirical critique of thirteen looks that astounded us the most.
1. Lupita Nyong’o: Headline: “Inmate escapes county jail wearing her high fashion prison stripes covered in blood and grass stains”
2. Jennifer Aniston: Jen makes a major fashion flop looking like Coachella gone red carpet.
3. Rosamund Pike: We gather here today to mourn the loss of our dear friend Big Bird.
4. Uzo Aduba: Several questions come to mind when we saw this atrocity. Is she going to a rave? Is she a casualty of a silly string war? Is her dress made out of Floam?
5. Naomi Watts: Naomi almost got it right but she just couldn’t part ways with that plastic lei she ordered from last month’s Oriental Trading.
6. Laura Carmichael: This is the pinnacle of a crime against fashion… too bad Laura’s an amateur and left her fingerprint all over it.
7. Julianna Margulies: You know that friend that will warn you if you come out of the bathroom with your dress caught in your underwear? Yeah… Julianna clearly doesn’t have one.
8. Keira Knightley: “Overslept, dress unsightly, not tryna’ to look like Keira Knightley… We’ve been there, we’ve done that, we see right through your fashion mishap.”
9. Shaun Robinson: We think Shaun got her formal events confused because she just looks like a trashy prom queen.
10. Lorelei Linklater: Is it just us or does Lorelei look like a pilgrim at Thanksgiving?
11. Alysia Reiner: Blast from the past! Alysia wanted to take her bridesmaid dress from the 80s out for another spin.
12. Dascha Polanco: There are two lessons we’ve learned from Dascha’s look. One, it’s not acceptable to wear grandma’s doilies. Two, one should never wear a gown with a turtleneck.
13. Andrea Riseborough: This year, Andrea is giving explicit hints to her man about what she wants for Valentine’s Day. Maybe if she gets a Tiffany box, she can stop wearing one.
