Boston College has acquired many Snapchat Geofilters throughout the past year. This week, I was on a mission to take a picture of every single geofilter on campus. Here is a list of the many we have on campus.
Boston College Filters:
- We Are BC
This was one of the first, if not the first, geofilters that many of us continuously snapped away when it was finally released.
- Boston College
This filter came a few months later after the first, giving us the opportunity to show off to all our friends from home that we go to BC with an alternate filter.
Academic Buildings
- Fulton Hall
Fulton written in a similar font to that on dollar bills is everything, and everything CSOM. I find it hilarious.
- Gasson Hall
When taking class in the prettiest building on campus, you expect nothing less of the geofilter.
Libraries
- O’Neill
This filter is the classic “I’ve been here all day someone please help me” filter.
This filter is by far the coolest on campus. Also, if you want to brag to your friends at home that your library has a cooler filter than theirs does.
Bapst
Bapst’ filter is nice. It shows that you care about studying somewhere that looks nice.
Dorms:
- The Mods pt. 1
When partying it up in the Mods on Friday and Saturday nights, you can brag to all of our friends that you were invited/let into to a Mod party.

The classier Mod geofilter.
- Fitzaga
Freshmen have been stepping up their game this year with the geofilters.
- Cheverus
This geofilter was one of the first on Upper. It’s a classic, but could use an upgrade.
- CLXF
Although this geofilter was relevant last year, as the RD of CLXF always said, “Howdy”, this year, they need to come up with a new one because it just doesn’t work anymore
- Medeiros
This semester, Medeiros got a geofilter. Honestly, I think it is the best one on Upper.
- Iggy
The shining lights from Iggy, or as I love to hear freshman call “Ignacio”, is where some of the best parties are, in my opinion. Though we often overlook Iggy for parties, when the Mods aren’t giving their 100%, Iggy will most likely make up for it. Also, where is Ruby’s geofilter?
- Voute
Vouté just got their geofilter less than two weeks ago, and I think it’s really cute. I’m loving the color scheme here.
- Walsh
This geofilter matches the personality of the building itself and it’s another filter that shows that you are having fun during the weekend. Whoever made this geofilter deserves much praise.
- 90
90’s geofilter is the stairs across from Lower. I’ve heard many complaints from the residents of 90 about their filter, but who will make a new one?
- CoRo
Last, but definitely not least, is CoRo. As a current CoRo resident, when I found out there was a filter, I squealed! It’s simple and functional, and CoRo can finally compete with Walsh! Right?
Overall, I think our geofilter game is not bad at all. I hope that by the end of this school year each building could have its own. If you are artistic in anyway, please make some geofilters!
