It is that time of year again when the colors of pink and red fill the stores and single girls everywhere are reminded of just how single they really are. This year I have been mentally and physically preparing for a V-Day spent in bed. With this in mind, I have prepared a lineup of chick-flicks that I will be watching while I eat my self-bought box of chocolate.

The first movie to take the screen will be one of my favorite movies of all time: 27 Dresses. Yes, this movie is filled with cheesy/romantic weddings and a sappy love story, but single or not, I root whole-heartedly for Katherine Heigl (especially since her sister is the worst). Not to mention how “difficult” it is watching James Marsden be absolutely adorable for 2 hours.

Next on the list is an obvious yet necessary choice, The Notebook.  Even though I’ve ugly-cried to this movie a hundred times, Noah and Allie’s love story continuously gives me hope. Plus, can you say Ryan Gosling?

To lighten the mood after my previous sob-fest, I will be watching Crazy, Stupid Love (whose title is super relatable). This ultimate romantic comedy has an absolutely genius plot line. Not to mention the hysterical dynamic of Ryan Gosling and Steve Carell as they take on women. This movie gives me hope that if a middle-aged Dad can find love, then so can I.

…wait, Ryan Gosling is in this one too?

My fourth movie of the day will be Something Borrowed. This movie demonstrates just how complicated love triangles can be (especially when they involve your best friend). Something Borrowed gives me the feels by unfortunately reminding me that I do not have two, let alone one boy pining for my love. *Eats Chocolate*

My V-Day closer is what I believe to be one of the best movies ever made: The Other Woman. In addition to having an all-star cast, this movie demonstrates some of the negative (and heartbreaking) aspects of being in a relationship. This movie also proves that your girlfriends are better than any man, and will always be there for you in the end. Ultimately proving that being single is awesome.

Happy Galentine’s Day to all the single ladies!
