Playlist of the Week: “Covers” Edition

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BC chapter.

Sometimes we need another’s perspective to gain insight that we would have otherwise ignored.  Take, for example, the great painter Henri Matisse.  By the 1920s, he had reached a point where he was having difficulty finding inspiration for his work.  Around that time, Pablo Picasso started caricaturing Matisse’s earlier work – something that many say encouraged Matisse to get “back in the ring” and create some of his greatest masterpieces.  So, are you having trouble with that introduction to your history paper?  Can’t seem to break out of your writer’s block?  Take a lesson from Picasso and Matisse (as well as the artists in this playlist) and ask a friend for some perspective.  Perhaps, through the eyes of another your paper can be transformed.  If Thom Yorke’s lyrics can be set to horns, you can sum up 200 years of history in Bapst at 2am.
