Being that my roommates and I just decorated our house for Christmas and I was in the Christmas spirit, I decided to make peppermint brownies. Since it’s finals week, I didn’t have the time to make something complicated, so this was a simple and delicious option.

This Week: Peppermint Brownies, courtesy of Sunset

The Ingredients

  • Brownie mix
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • ÂĽ cup water
  • Peppermint candies

Assembly

1. Follow the instructions on the back of the brownie mix.

2. Put peppermint candies in a Ziploc bag and crush into fine pieces.

3. When the brownies are about half way done, take them out of the oven and sprinkle with peppermint candies. I experimented with crushed versus whole peppermints because I saw on Pinterest brownies with melted peppermint candies on top. That didn’t work, but it still tasted great.

4. Take out of oven and enjoy!

Final Product

Time Spent in Kitchen: about 35 minutes

Rating: 6

These brownies were good, but not amazing. I wanted to find a quick treat to make for my roommates before the chaos that is finals week has set in and that’s what I did. Everyone was extremely grateful for the study snack. Check out my baking blog next week to see more Christmas themed treats!

Peace, Love, and Pinterest,

Katherine
