The Perfect Playlist for Your Trip Home

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BC chapter.

With the end in sight, this may mean that some of you HC BC readers will be making the long drive home while others will be hopping on planes for travels of varying distances or  may only need to drive 20 minutes up the road. No matter the distance nor the means, these trips will signify the end of another school year, a reason to celebrate, a time when you’re already starting to miss your roomies and friends. More importantly, however, these trips mark the start of your summer! Despite your bags, boxes and belongings, no trip is complete without its accompanying soundtrack. Every traveler needs a playlist for his or her trip, so here is one dedicated to going home at the end of this year’s semester.

1. “Give Me Back My Hometown”- Eric Church

Start your trip home with a little nostalgia.

2. “Time of Your Life”- Green Day

Sorry seniors, but while you’re thinking back to all the memories you had at home, think back to your time at BC. Get the emotions out of the way.

3. “Wait For Me”- Kings Of Leon

This could just be the perfect summer sunset song!

4. “See You Tonight”- Scotty McCreery

Excited to see your friends from home? Have a long distance relationship from home? This song is for you!

5. “Not a Bad Thing”- Justin Timberlake

Everybody loves a good JT song and this song definitely makes the cut for this playlist.

6. “No Interruption”- Hoodie Allen

You can’t NOT throw it back to Modstock!!

7. “Start Me Up”- The Rolling Stones

An oldie, but a goodie!

8. “L.A. Story”- Sammy Adams

For the seniors, you may be thinking about the good (and possibly embarrassing) memories from our freshman year Fall Concert.

9. “I Do It All For You”- SOMO

SOMO was found on YouTube and this song could even cause some hope for a summer romance to emerge.

10. “1973 (Acoustic)”- James Blunt

Because there is nothing like a good acoustic song to calm you down during traffic or turbulence.

11. “Friday Night”- Eric Paslay

12. “Cop Car”- Keith Urban

13. “What You Do To Me”- Dan +Shay

14. “Drink to That All Night” – Jarrod Neimann

To me, country music screams summer! Get yourself ready for a summer fling, drinking, and fun with these country songs!

15. “The City”- Madeon

You’re getting closer to home (and the end of the playlist), got to get a little bit pumped up!

16. “Summer”- Calvin Harris

Finally, home! Which means…

Depending on the distance, you may need to add in some of your favorite pump up songs from Friday nights at BC. Throw in some guilty pleasures (we all hear you blasting them in your room as you’re getting ready). Now that you’re in the home stretch, smile, keep calm and get ready for your four months of freedom! Happy summer from HC BC!
