Pantone Color of the Year: Radiant Orchid

As 2013 came to a close, we welcomed 2014 with an exciting announcement from Pantone. Every year, they announce the color that they think defines the year to come. From tangerine tango in 2012 to emerald in 2013, there have been many memorable choices, all with their own connotations. After much anticipation, this year’s color was announced as “Radiant Orchid.” This gorgeous, bright color (a mix of purple and fuchsia) will be perfect for Spring and is easy to incorporate into any Collegiette’s lifestyle. From accessories to dorm room décor, there are plenty of easy ways to rock this gorgeous shade. An executive at Pantone stated that Radiant Orchid encourages creativity and power within its wearer and creates a sense of strength that embodies the man or woman bold enough to try it out. With that kind of endorsement, who wouldn’t want to add some Radiant Orchid to their wardrobe?

As Spring fast approaches, you can expect to see this color everywhere – from high-impact jewelry to everyday casual wear. It complements neutral colors well and is also great for pattern mixing.
