Our Newest HC BC Addition: Positive Affirmations

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BC chapter.

How many of you have ever had a bad day?  Probably all of us.  And on those days, don’t you want just one thing to smile about that gives you some optimism to get you through?

That’s exactly what Her Campus BC is trying to accomplish with our latest social media campaign: positive affirmations. We hope that you will be scrolling through social media and stumble upon one at a time when you need it the most!

We all face struggles in life and sometimes we just need that extra motivation to push through. Did you know that according to DoSomething.org, 7 in 10 girls believe they are not good enough or don’t measure up in some way to what they believe society expects of them? And NEDA reports that in the United States, 20 million women and 10 million men suffer from a clinically significant eating disorder at some time in their life. Furthermore, ADAA estimates that depression affects approximately 14.8 million American adults. These are shocking statistics that are far too high.

So remember, YOU ARE WORTH IT AND YOU ARE GOOD ENOUGH! One bad day does not make for a bad life. Whether you are just feeling a little blue today, or are battling something bigger and more difficult, just know, Her Campus BC is here for you!
