Dear Monday,

I know it must be rough being you. You’re basically everyone’s least favorite day of the week, and for good enough reasons too. And although I know it isn’t always fair for you to take the heat, it’s also really not fair for you to just end the blissful weekend and bring on a heap of responsibilities. I try to ignore the dread I feel as you quickly approach, but the looming reality is always there. Friday to Monday happens in the blink of an eye, while Monday to Friday seems to drag on forever. WHY?! (Other than the obvious fact that there are indeed more days in between Monday and Friday…).

The truth is, Monday, that I don’t really hate you. I just sincerely wish you would take some time off. Think about it. What if a law was passed making you part of the weekend, giving everyone an added day of relaxation and free time? Doesn’t sound too bad, right? At the start of every new week, there’s always a part of me that wishes I had spent more time in bed, just so I wouldn’t be so exhausted on Monday. But with this genius new plan I’ve concocted, we could all go out on the weekend, get our work done, and recover from everything all in time for Tuesday!

Granted, it will probably be a while before Mondays will be declared an official part of the weekend, so in the meantime, we’re just going to have to learn to live (and love) one another. Who would I need to talk to though to try and get my law passed? Just wondering…

Sincerely,

Every college student ever
