NYFW: In the Streets and In the FRow

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BC chapter.

As the dust begins to settle on New York Fashion Week, and we reflect on a week filled with models lighting up the most extravagant runways, whether it be Ralph Lauren’s luxury garage, or taking it to the streets of New York City Alexander Wang style, in new, risky collections, one truly important aspect of NYFW should not be overlooked: street and front row style.

Dressing for NYFW is a daunting task, yet celebrities and bloggers have managed to turn it into an art. Not only do they have to dress to impress for the candid paparazzi photos, but they also have to dress for comfort as they jump from show to show, outfit change after outfit change, while still having to tackle the bustling, cobblestone streets of NYC.

This year’s Fashion Week was filled with surprises on the runway, but the real stars emerged on the streets. Between mixing and matching patterns and textures, pulling a twist on the classics, and so, so, so much more, these emerging bloggers and stars truly pulled out all the stops and proved why New York is one of the major fashion capitals of the world.

Keep on scrolling for some of the best looks of the week, show by show:

Jenny Campolli at Tory Burch:

Jenny Campolli, blogger, took on Tory Burch’s outdoor garden fashion show in a classic, Europeanesque ensemble, playing with one of fall’s biggest trends: plaid.

Katie Holmes at Adam Dalton Blake, Tiffany Huang and Ghazaleh Khalifeh:

Katie Holmes wowed, as per usual, at this FRow in this cinched-in, floral, midi-dress. The unique neckline, florals, and midi-dress are all major players this season.

Arielle Charnas at Zimmermann:

The face behind SomethingNavy took on this effortlessly chic “casual x men’s” look for Zimmermann’s show. The look paired nicely with the designer’s laid-back, boho line for the Spring ‘18 season.

Selena Gomez at Coach:

The fashion icon and face of Coach stole the spotlight at the Spring ‘18 show. Denim, leather, and sheer, what more could one ask for?
