It’s officially #spookyszn, which means Halloween movies will be taking over TV pretty soon. Since I’m not a huge horror fan myself, I tend to stick to my childhood classics and love to rewatch all the movies I used to watch with friends when we stuffed ourselves with candy corn and apple pie. Instead of their signature ‘13 Nights of Halloween,’ Freeform decided to give the people what they want this year, a full 31 nights of Halloween, and I’m here for it. This means you can binge-watch all month long without missing any of your faves. These are the movies at the top of my list.

1. Halloweentown

This is hands down my favorite Halloween movie and the best in the series. You’re lying if you say you didn’t use to wish you were Marnie, who had just discovered she comes from a family of witches and starts to her develop her own magical powers.

2. Hocus Pocus

A close tie for my favorite, Hocus Pocus has it all: great costumes, creepy witches, and cringey teenage romance. It’s a cult classic loved by all ages and no matter how many times I watch it, it never gets old.

3. Halloweentown II

I think this was the last good Halloweentown movie Disney gave us before the series started to go downhill. It’s not every day you find out that your crush is actually a warlock, and the son of your family’s archnemesis, who is threatening to unleash revenge on your entire town.

4. Twitches

As a twin myself, the twitches epitomized everything I wanted to be. Although we weren’t separated at birth only to meet 21 years later and discover we were witches, my sister and I loved to pretend we were the real-life versions of Alex and Cam and even got scared by the thought of “the darkness” following us around the house.

5. Addams Family

While The Addams Family might not be as popular, I’m a huge fan and insist on watching it every single year. My favorite character is definitely Wednesday Addams, whose emotionless (sometimes psychotic) personality and dark humor are severely underrated.

I am a junior studying psychology at Boston College, originally from Albany, NY. I love binge-watching The Office, Friends, or Gilmore Girls, and am a coffee addict.
Alexandra is a Senior History major with an English minor at Boston College who can always be found procrastinating by reading books or watching Netflix. She is known for making puns so bad that not even her friends laugh at them (but she always does). Her favorite ice cream flavor is Ben and Jerry's Chunky Monkey. Favorite movies include When Harry Met Sally, Dead Poets Society, and The Princess Bride.
