Meet Pat Genovese, this week’s Campus Cutie! This cutie is a sweet guy who loves a girl with a good sense of humor. Keep reading to find out why this Massachusetts native has all of Her Campus BC laughing.
The Basics:
Name: Pat Genovese
Hometown: Reading, Massachusetts
School: A&S 2015
Major: Communications
BC Life
Activities/Clubs: I am a member of My Mother’s Fleabag! Did you know Amy Poehler was a former member? I love doing improv comedy and making a fool of myself on stage for an applause. Improv keeps me quick on my feet so I can come up with fast and believable excuses for handing in late assignments. We have four shows on November 22nd and 23rd this year! It is a ton of fun and really fun to watch! I am also a member of a number of cultural diversity groups. My activity in those groups mostly consists of reading the first few sentences of their emails and scavenging their events for delicious and free food. You might also recognize me as the mime that performs between 2:30pm and 2:35pm on the 4th floor of the Beacon Street parking garage.
Best class: The best class at BC is Intro to Creative Writing with Sue Roberts. I’m not even an English major but this class accepted me as one of its own. Sue Roberts is also an amazing professor with a young soul.
Worst class: Freshman year I took a calculus class for two weeks. I wasn’t aware I joined a class with a “Understanding Thick Russian accents” Pre-Req so I was totally lost.
Bapst or O’Neill: O’Neill fourth floor is my jam. The view is great, the people are quiet and the atmosphere is very relaxed. I go to Bapst on occasion so I can have a quiet setting to play Batman games on my phone.
Favorite place to eat on campus: Lower is the best for hamburgers and since that’s all I eat, it is the best dining hall. If you want to argue this point, come at me.
Biggest pet peeve: I have a list of my biggest pet peeves: When people’s shoes are the same color of their pants. When men shop at vineyard vines. [Editor’s Note: Although the interviewer is a proud employee of vineyard vines, she forgave Mr. Genovese for this statement because he is just so funny.] When guys are jerks to girls. When those girls go hook up with those guys who were jerks to them. People who live off their parents plastic. People with bad senses of humor. When I smile at someone and they “BC look away” me.
Most embarrassing moment: I’ve never been embarrassed. Ever. I don’t know how.
Fun fact: Reading backwards will actually help you retain more information! Oh about me? I have a twin sister named Emily and we can read each other’s minds.
Celeb crush: The French foreign exchange girl from the movie “Better Off Dead.” She is perfect.
Dream job: I would love to be a member of SNL. That’s been my dream since I was twelve.
Favorite hangout spot on campus: My favorite hangout spot used to be the old benches outside Lyons! They were perfect. Now the benches outside Lyons are isolated and feel like “creepy watching spots.”
Ideal girl: This one is tough. She has to have dark deep eyes and a nice smile. It’s great if she stays in shape and has a great sense of humor. If you can make me laugh, I love you.
Ideal date: We would go get Italian food. I wouldn’t spill anything on you and you wouldn’t sneeze on my pasta.
Deal breakers: If a girl is rude to the waiter on our date it’s over. Also, if the girl as an annoying laugh.
Advice to freshmen: High school is over. Branch out as far as you can. Get a haircut, get contacts, do pushups and always smile.
