Meet Fuego’s Co-Captain, Carlos Contreras!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BC chapter.

Meet this week’s Campus Cutie, Carlos Contreras!  Along with being the Co-Captain of Fuego, this dancing cutie is also a 48 Hours leader and involved with the Freshman League.  If he’s not on stage dancing, you can find him just hanging out, like his favorite animal the Sloth does, in Rubenstein or enjoying the view of Boston from the 5th floor of O’Neill, his first choice study spot.

The Basics
Name: Carlos Contreras
Year: 2012
Major: Secondary Education and History
Hometown: Greenwich, Connecticut

At BC
What clubs or activities are you involved with on campus? Co-Captain of Fuego del Corazon, The Freshman League (a pilot program for freshman guys- basically just a group of eight freshman guys led by two upperclassmen, and we get together a few times a month and just hang out, talk, or go into Boston), and a 48 Hours Team Leader.
What is your favorite place on campus? My 6-man in Rubenstein.  My roommates are the greatest.
Bapst or O’Neil? O’Neill on the 5th floor in the back.  It overlooks Boston!
Best Class? Intro to Christian Theology with Father Himes.  The man is genius.
Worst Class? None.  I’ve had classes that were challenging, but I wouldn’t consider them the worst.  I try concentrating on why I like a class as opposed to why it sucks.

Fun Facts
What type of music do you listen to? Any kind of music that makes me either want to dance, close my eyes and nod my head, or sing along.  I think every genre of music offers at least one of these.
What is the most played song on your iPod? “Mi Gente” by Hector Lavoe.  It’s a salsa song that’ll make anyone want to dance.
What is the craziest thing you’ve ever done? Danced in front of 4,000 people.  I’ve never experienced anything like it.  The rush is insane!
What is your most embarrassing moment? Showdown last year, I messed up pretty bad in one of the dances.  Not a lot of people noticed, but I got crap for it from the team.
Who is your celebrity girl crush? Adele.  She’s incredibly talented, beautiful, and great head of hair.
Celebrity guy crush? Robert Downey Jr.
What’s your guilty pleasure? Chick flicks
Biggest pet peeve? When people correct my grammar in the middle of conversation!

Favorites
Favorite Food:  My momma’s lasagna
Favorite Movie: Saving Private Ryan
Favorite TV Show: Curb Your Enthusiasm
Favorite Book: Tuesdays With Morrie
Favorite Animal: Sloth.  I love that they just hang out all day (no pun intended)!

Love?
Are you single? Nope. I’ve been dating my girlfriend, Christiana, for almost eight months.
What’s your type? I don’t think I have a type.  I just like a girl that’s comfortable to be herself and has a great head of hair.  A full head of hair is so attractive to me.
What’s your idea of the perfect first date? Aquarium.  They’re like playgrounds for people of all ages.
Any deal breakers? Lack of self-confidence.  If you’re not comfortable with yourself than how could you be comfortable with me?
