Meet Cutie Macey Peterson

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BC chapter.

Meet Sophomore Sweetheart: Macey Peterson!

Meet Macey Peterson, a bright and bubbly sophomore who has a true passion for helping others. When she isn’t in one of her Lynch classes or at a meeting for one of the several clubs she is in, she can be found helping Preschool children learn their names through Jumpstart. Though she is a West Coast girl at heart, she has taken BC’s campus by storm and is someone you may want to know more!

The Basics:

Name: Macey Peterson

Hometown: Carmichael, CA

School/Major: Lynch School/Applied Psychology and Human Development

BC Life:

Activities/clubs:  UGBC- Mentoring Leadership Program (MLP)/ Undergraduate Leadership Academy Leader (ULA Leader), Jumpstart Corps Member, Appalachia Service Trip Volunteer

Favorite Class: Child Growth and Development. All we did was learn about children, how could that not be fun!

Least Favorite Class: Geoscience, it was awful.

Favorite BC experience: Last year I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to be a preschool teacher for some of the cutest 3,4, and 5 year olds who spoke Chinese as their first language. It was so awesome to see how quickly they could pick up English and was an overall fun, rewarding experience!

Bapst or O’Neill: O’Neill

One thing on your BC bucket list: Run the Boston Marathon

Upper or Newton: Newton. Once a Newton girl, always a Newton girl.

Why BC: I figured college was four years to travel and I was always curious about the east coast! BC had everything to offer that I was looking for so I decided heck, why not!

Fun Facts:

Favorite TV show: Rocket Power

Biggest Pet Peeve: When people eat yogurt in the library….Random, I know, but it drives me insane.

Favorite food: My mom’s homemade chicken enchiladas

Top place you want to visit: That’s a toughie! I’d have to say Switzerland because my mom and my relatives on her side of the family have dual citizenship there and I’ve always wanted to learn more about that part of their and my life. Also, because it just looks absolutely gorgeous!

Favorite song right now: “Chillin It” by Cole Swindell

Most embarrassing moment at BC: First semester of freshman year we had a club meeting in Iggy 32A. I thought the only dorms on campus with letters were the Mods, so me, awkward freshman, showed up and at a random Mod door and knocked looking for my club meeting!

Guilty pleasure: JP Licks

One thing you want to do before you die: Visit all the national parks in the US

Celeb crush: Toss up between Luke Bryan and Dan Carter…got to love those country and rugby boys.

Single or Taken: Single

Ideal guy: Someone who’s happy hearted and adventurous. Also, a great smile wouldn’t hurt :)

Ideal date: “Well I’d have to say April 25th because its not too hot or too cold and all you need is a light jacket” clever, I know!

Deal breaker: LA Dodgers or LA Lakers fan, I’m sorry but it will just never work.

Deal maker: Hmm I don’t know, something about boys who can play rugby.
