Meet Cutie Adriana Castaños

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BC chapter.

Meet the sweetest girl with a firecracker personality to match her hair – Adriana Castaños! You may recognize her from the marching band’s color guard, twirling that flag like nobody’s business, or from the jazz band as the vocalist with KILLER pipes. Read on to learn more about Adriana!

The Basics

Name: Adriana Carolina Castaños Kovacevic Antezana

Nickname: Adjie (pronounced “ah gee”, if that helps)

Hometown: Gurnee, IL; right next to Six Flags Great America!

School Year: 2017

Major(s): Theatre and Psychology

BC Life

Clubs/Activities: BC bOp!, BC Marching Band, Full Swing, Theatre Department

Best class (this year): Theatre for Youth (the best reward: bringing smiles to children’s faces)

Worst class (so far): Chem II (Sorry Wolfman, you are a wonderful human being!)

Bapst or O’Neill: I must go with the all-aesthetic Bapst.

Favorite place to eat on campus/around campus: Well there is this one place called El Pelón.

One thing most excited about for senior year: Ummmmm? That’s a good question.

Why BC?: Not to be cliché or anything, but it was love at first sight. BC has a perfect balance between beautiful buildings and greenery, and it’s not too close to the hustle and bustle of the city. But Boston is still a small T ride away!

More About Adriana

Biggest pet peeve: If you have ever seen my hair, then you will understand. Anytime I run out of hair product and my curls spazz out, my hair turns into a cotton ball.

Most embarrassing moment: This actually also involves my hair. One time I straightened my hair and made it into a long braid, and later that day when I turned my head to talk with someone, I accidentally slapped them with my rope of hair.

Favorite sport: I’m always up for watching a hockey game. But I must say I’m not too shabby at badminton.

Favorite movie: What a coincidence, for I just watched my favorite movies the other day: Anastasia and Moulin Rouge. Pass the popcorn please!

Favorite TV show: Gotta love that Criminal Minds. But I can’t say no to Reign. Oh I’m so indecisive!

Favorite theatrical show: In The Heights. Hands down.

Celeb crush: I must say, Zachary Levi or Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

Dream job: It’s a bit ambitious, but I wish to entertain people by performing on stage.

Summer plans: On weekends, I shall be enjoying my fabulous job, working at the Renaissance Faire! (I may or may not look like Princess Merida from Disney’s Brave)

Taken or single: As of now, I am single.

Ideal guy: I wouldn’t mind a defined jawline. Any musical ability is a BIG plus, whether it is vocal or instrumental. I will serenade you in return!

Ideal date: A day outside; maybe a hike, a picnic, or…you know, screw it. Video games anyone?

Deal breakers: Do you have the ability to grow facial hair? No? Hmm this causes a dilemma… Actually, communication is key for me.

Advice for incoming freshmen: Don’t be afraid to frolic through the quad! But seriously, don’t be afraid to bust out your silly side and be a bit weird. That’s how I met my best friend.

Hope you have come to love Adriana as much so many other BC students have!
