Have you ever seen that cutie on campus with the wavy hair and big smile, usually wearing a “Support Love” shirt and skinny jeans? That guy you see walking around campus really quickly is the first HC BC catch of 2014: Campus Cutie, Senior Alex Taratuga! He’s the chair of GLC and in the University Chorale! Read on to learn more about him!
The Basics
Nickname (if any): I don’t really have one.
Hometown: North Smithfield, RI
School: A&S
Year: 2014 – Senior!!
Major: Political Science
BC Life
Residence on Campus: Mod 39B!
One Thing Most Excited for this Semester: Getting to make the most of my last semester at BC with some of my favorite people in the world.
Things You Do on Campus: Chair of the GLBTQ Leadership Council (GLC), Senator in the Student Assembly, member of the University Chorale, and I am also a leader on the Spectrum retreat and 48HOURS.
Best BC Memory (so far): There are a lot to choose from, but I would have to say the entire five months that I studied abroad in Granada, Spain. It was amazing.
Favorite Place to Eat on Campus: Definitely Hillside. I am a sucker for the chicken club sandwich.
Fun Facts
Biggest Pet Peeve: Ignorance.
Last Song You Listened to: “Grown Women” from the new Beyoncé album.
Favorite Movie: I am not really a big movie person, but I guess Lion King.
Guilty Pleasure: I am embarrassed to admit this, but powdered jelly donuts from Dunkin. They are so good!
Most Embarrassing Moment: I really like BC costume parties and tend to go all out for them. So my most embarrassing moments probably are the nights when I go to late night and I am the only one in a costume, or just admitting that I love jelly donuts.
Three Words that Describe You: Dedicated, upbeat, and caring.
If any celebrity could play you in the movie of your life, who would it be? Meryl Streep. I don’t know how it would work, but I am sure she would do an amazing job.
Love Life
Single or Taken: Single.
Celeb Girl Crush: Beyoncé, all the way!
Celeb Guy Crush: There is definitely a list, but I would say Chris Evans, Colton Haynes and Henry Cavill are among the top contenders. Oh yea, Anderson Cooper too, duh.
Ideal Man: A guy who is passionate and driven, but also polite, considerate and caring. Someone who never ceases to amaze me and he has to have kind eyes and a warm smile. Being a good kisser doesn’t hurt either.
Ideal Date: The most important part of a good date is the guy, so definitely someone special. The type of guy that makes you smile when you think about him. Good conversation is also key; it’s one of my favorite parts of a date. I think going to a cozy little restaurant with an amazing guy, splitting a nice bottle of red wine and having a continuous and engaging conversation sounds pretty ideal to me.
