About the Team:
What exactly is the Boston College Women’s Club Lacrosse team?
The Boston College Women’s Club Lacrosse Team is a student-run organization. We compete in the New England Women’s Lacrosse Leagues at a high level of competition within the Northeast region of the country, and we are nationally recognized every season. During the 2014 season, we finished second in the country! Not only does the team establish team chemistry on the field, but also creates relationships that last during college and beyond.
What is your favorite part about being a member of the team?
My favorite part by far is bonding with the team and making friends with the girls in the other grades. It is always great to have new players joining every year and to see how the older players welcome them and make them feel included. Our team definitely has the vibe of a family.
What do you look forward to for the spring season?
I can’t wait to be back on the field for my senior season, it’s the seniors’ last chance for a National Championship!
What changes are you making to your team this year?
As the President, I am making sure that our team is as active in the Boston College community as we are on the field. The team will be working concessions at the basketball and hockey games, and we will also be running in the Red Bandana Run in memory of former BC Lacrosse player and 9/11 hero, Welles Crowther. We will also be keeping up our very busy preseason exercise schedule and will be playing some fall ball games.
How has being a club athlete at BC shaped your time at BC?
Playing club lacrosse has been one of the best decisions I have made since applying to Boston College. It has given me a strong friend group, a sense of leadership, and has helped me continue my love for lacrosse in college on a competitive but fun level.
How can other girls get involved with club lacrosse?
COME TO TRYOUTS! They will be hosted October 3rd from 10 am -12 pm in Alumni Stadium. Looking forward to seeing you there!
