Meet AeroK Dancer, Mark Stancher!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BC chapter.

You may recognize him as the “lone white guy” of AerodynamiK (as he calls himself), but Mark Stancher is much more than a dancer.  When he’s not dancing, he’s working hard with his double major in math and sociology, which gives him a balance between something practical and something he loves.  His goofy personality and big smile make him one of the most fun, friendly people I’ve met in awhile.  Mark is the perfect combination of smart, fun, passionate, and creative— no wonder he’s one of BC’s most eligible bachelors!

Basics
Name:  Mark Stancher
Hometown: Hawthorne, NJ
School, Year:  A&S, Junior
Major: Math and Sociology

BC Life
Activities/Clubs: E-board of BC’s AerodynamiK— I wanted to be one of the lone white guys— along with the occasional open mic nights, and the Sons of St. Patrick.
Best Class: People and Nature
Worst Class: Abstract Algebra
Favorite place on campus: Lyons 4th floor piano rooms.  I’m self-taught in piano, and I like to just chill out sometimes and play some stuff.  It helps me unwind.
What are you most excited for this year: Definitely just the dance season.  Being on E-board, I get to do the choreography myself and then teach it to a lot of people.

Fun Facts
Favorite Movie: The Prestige
Favorite Music: I like rock/alternative.  Specifically Fall Out Boy and Senses Fail.
Favorite Food: Grilled cheese.  It’s my weakness.
Biggest Pet Peeve: I can’t stand it when I’m on a date with a girl, and she just whips out her phone (pretends to text).  I’m like, if you wanted to be with that person, why’d you come out with me?
Most Embarrassing Moment: When I was in high school, I was on the track and cross- country team, and we wore these tight Under Armor boxers.   Well, one day I was in a big group of people and one of my friends pantsed me right in front of everybody.
Secret Talents: I can touch my tongue to my elbow. (It really can be done!)
Guilty Pleasure: I like really poppy, almost girly techno music.  Not all the time- but I have my moments.

Love Life
Ideal Date: It doesn’t take much to please me.  I’d like going out to dinner at a nice restaurant and then going somewhere completely random on the way home.  I want something to surprise me.
Turn Ons: Enthusiastic, energetic.  I need someone who can not only keep up with me but maybe pass me.
Turn Offs: Overly dramatic girls. I mean I’ll be supportive but I don’t want to deal with the “he said, she said” drama.
Celeb Crush: Michelle Trachtenberg, or Amanda Bynes.
Single? Yes
Looking?Maybe?  It depends.  I’m not the type of guy to look.  But if it happens, it happens.
