This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BC chapter and does not reflect the views of Her Campus.

While Brendan isn’t busy watching Finding Bigfoot, socializing at MA’s, or tuning into every Red Sox game, this Massachusetts native spends his time working for the Intramural Office, traveling with Arrupe, and interning at a CPA firm.  But what is one thing that will really get this one going?  Just ask him about the Museum of Invisible Art.

The Basics
Name:  Brendan Howard
Hometown:  Malden, MA
School/Year:  CSOM ‘12
Major:  Finance and Management and Leadership

BC Life
Activities/Clubs:  Honduras Education Leadership Project, Hoops for Hope, BC Intramural Office
Best Class:  I had really good finance and accounting professors, but my most interesting class was Social Innovation and Enterprise taught by Brad Googins.
Worst Class:  I didn’t really like my freshman year calc class…
Bapst or O’Neill:  I used to be neither, but I’m a Bapst guy now.
Favorite Place to Eat:  On campus, Eagles Nest.  Off Campus, it’s gotta be the Deli (Eagle’s Deli).
Favorite BC sport: Football, but I’m a big basketball fan as well.
Favorite Hangout spot on campus: Gotta’ be the Fulton Powers’ Atrium!
Favorite BC memory: I’d say storming the court after beating Duke.

Fun Facts
Biggest Pet Peeve:  The Museum of Invisible Art.  But really.
Favorite Family Vacation: Kennebunkport, Maine.  Gooserocks Beach!
One thing most excited for about for senior year: Mods.  My Mod.
Most embarrassing moment: One time… I was one of those kids who was in the wrong class…
Fun Fact: I have put on my left shoe before my right shoe for as long as I can remember.  I’m also a published poet.
Favorite Movie: No Country for Old Men
Favorite TV Show:  Lost formerly, but currently It’s Always Sunny, oh… and Finding Bigfoot.
Celeb Crush: Taylor Swift. Easily. No question.  Her or Ke$ha.
Dream Job: CEO of some big financial corporation in downtown Boston.  Corner office.
Favorite Halloween Costume: I was a crossing guard one year, which was really fun.  It cost me like 35 cents and while going to parties off campus, I was able to safely get everyone across the streets.

What did you do this summer?
I worked at a CPA firm, we’ll leave it at that because it gets too complicated.  For fun though, my roommates and I had “outdoor games,” which involved kayaking in the Charles, swimming in the Manet Res (shhhh), going fishing, going to Maine, lobster bakes, and the like.

Tell me about Hoops for Hope.
It’s an annual 3-on 3-charity basketball tourney held in the Plex.  All the proceeds go towards the Jimmy V Foundation for cancer research.

Love Life
Ideal Girl: Smart, funny, attractive, all that stuff.  She has to be fun to be around, anyone who puts up with my antics.

Ideal date:  A nice dinner, then walk around the waterfront in the early evening.  Good company, good food, good conversation.

Funny date story: I once “dated” a girl who didn’t talk.  It was one of those 5th or 6th grade relationships that I don’t know how started.  But we didn’t say a single word to each other the entire three days we dated.

Deal Breakers:  If I can’t get along with them because there is really something wrong with their personality.  Oh, and talking too much is never a good thing.

Senior Year:
Do you plan on road tripping to ND?  Oh yeah, that and hopefully one other.  Maybe we’ll go to Virginia Tech or something.

What will you most take advantage of being a senior?  I’d say resources around campus that I just won’t have next year after I graduate.  Probably the bar scene too…

Favorite Bar?  Oh.  MA’s.  Hands down.

Advice to freshmen:  There’s the cliché to enjoy it because it goes by so fast, but realistically, get deeply involved in at least one really rewarding thing here.  Take something and make it yours, because there are so many opportunities to participate in that level, rather than just being a surface person across a bunch of clubs.  I think it is more rewarding if you take a leadership role in something you are doing.

What’s one lesson you learned the hard way over the past four years?  It’s not like high school where you’re going to be spoon-fed.  There are a lot more responsibilities.  I feel like I was ready for it, but no one can be completely ready for it.  So probably adapting to the college lifestyle, and it gets harder every year.
