It’s no secret to anyone on BC’s campus that it’s beginning to be that time of year.  Classes have ended and slowly but surely, finals are creeping up upon us, which can only mean two things: it’s time to procrastinate, and to think about keeping up with your friends over the summer.  What better way to do that than with a new blog?  Enter “Interns and the City,” a website recently launched in an effort to give an inside look at some of the impressive summer plans of BC students.
Â
Started by five juniors (myself included), the blog will follow the in’s and out’s of a variety of summer internships, including everything from fashion to accounting to biology research.  If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like working in the fashion closet for a major magazine, what a pre-med student works on in a lab, or what it’s like to work in sports marketing, then the blog is definitely worth checking out.
Â
Though they won’t start their jobs until the beginning of June, all five of the writers are itching to dip their toes into the professional world, and they want to share it with the rest of the BC community.  In the meantime, they will be writing about important steps that helped to get to this point, such as finding your passion, acing an interview, and where they hope to be in ten years.  Plus, as the summer goes on, keep an eye out for guest blogs from other BC students making waves in the professional world. If you’ve scored a killer internship for the summer or know someone who has, don’t hesitate to contact them, because we all know BC students are amazing, so why not share that with the world? Â
