I Got 99 Problems, but a Party Ain’t One

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BC chapter.

Don’t feel like going out? Yeah, me neither.

These past few weekends, I haven’t been feeling the whole party scene. I don’t mind going out, but every weekend is too much just for my body to handle. Here are a few suggestions if you choose to stay in some weekends.

1. Catch up on Sleep

Sometimes your body just needs rest. I have heard the words “I’m tired” so much since I’ve been at college, and I think we forget that it’s ok to stay in some weekends and catch up on sleep. Don’t be this girl.

2. Go out to dinner with your friends

Treat yo’self! We all deserve to get away from BC dining food! Although Chipotle and El Pelón are great and quick during the week, on the weekends once in a while, go out to eat with your friends. There are some great restaurants in Back Bay and Downtown Boston that you should check out!

3. Get your nails done

You and your roomie can do your nails together, watch a movie and relax in your room or you can go to a salon and get them done professionally. Either way, you will have cute nails and be relaxed.

4. Go to the movies/ Netflix

Whether going out to the movies with friends, watching a movie is a fun alternative to going out and partying. You can get food before or after the movie and enjoy some time with your girls (or guy) outside of the BC bubble.

5. Go shopping

Retail therapy never fails. Newbury St. is full of shops and yummy treats. You can’t say no to this.

6.    Being silly

Hanging out with your roommates, floormates, and/or friends is the best way to relax and a great alternative to partying in hot sweaty dorm rooms.

My personal favorites are numbers 1 and 6, because let’s be real who wants to be hot, sweaty, and tired?! Maybe it’s the sophomore slump or maybe I really am getting old…
