It started as a hairstyle for only the bold, the brave, and the proud. But now, the “Hun,” a half-up bun, is the leading trend of the fall season for everyone. Paired with the right style, it can be appropriate for any occasion. Channel your inner Mulan and conquer the Hun.

The Bohemian Hun

The half-bun really comes into the spotlight with this style. The half-bun is what Free People had in mind for the perfect boho hairstyle. Allow for some kinks and bumps with this look. It should be casual and bed-head messy. You can also add waves or curls to the rest of your hair.

The Simple Hun

If you’re not sure of the Hun yet, keep it simple and polished with the classic panache. Pull the hair closer to your scalp for a tighter look. Twist the hair around and secure with bobby pins instead of free-handing a bun. The rest of the hair should be straight or loosely curled. Kate Middleton is a beacon of light for us all.

The Business-Appropriate Hun
