The month of February is National Black History Month (BHM) and AHANA has organized many different events to celebrate. While many people know about the ALC Ball that will be held at the end of the month, there is a lot happening on campus before then.Â
If you want to begin or continue having discussions about race relations, Dialogues on Race (DOR) is currently holding sign-ups for their new sessions that will meet throughout the semester. Dialogues on Race is a program that encourages sophomores, juniors and seniors to “discuss issues of race and racism in a safe, comfortable, and sustained environment.” The small groups are led by two facilitators and meet for 6 consecutive weeks during the spring semester. If you’re interested, you can find more information on DOR here, or go here to sign up. Don’t hesitate – the deadline is February 13!
Â
You can also check out the Boston Globe for ideas on how to celebrate in Boston.
