Grammy’s Best and Worst Dressed

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BC chapter.

With another award show come and gone, it’s time to share my picks for best and worst dressed. The Grammy’s are known for being the most fashion-forward event of the season and there really are no rules for what is acceptable to wear. With that being said, this year’s red carpet was a little bit safe. That’s not to say that there weren’t some stunning dresses, but overall I think everyone toned it down this year, especially without perpetual risk-takers Lady Gaga and Ke$ha in attendance.

Overall, the theme amongst the best-dressed was definitely bold metallic. I loved the sleek and shiny looks that many stars pulled out for this year’s Grammy’s and the complementing hair and make-up really finished the overall polished look. Best-dressed goes to Ciara, Taylor Swift, and Chrissy Teigen.

Another trend seen last night was bold hues and cut-out accents. Giuliana Rancic and Colbie Caillat rocked this look and looked amazing doing it.

Onto the worst dressed. As always, there were a few standouts for this category that left everyone perplexed. Paula Patton rocked a full-on zebra number complete with an updo that resembled the tail, and that wasn’t even the most confusing look. Next we have Paris Hilton who left very little to the imagination in this completely sheer white dress by Christina Milani, which confusingly enough included a turtleneck. Last but not least, Kacey Musgraves looked like a mix between Glinda the good witch and a wedding cake in this dress by Armani Prive with the featured sheer layers and tutu-like glitter. Honorable mention goes to Pharrell with his strange and bizarre hat choice.

As another Grammy’s has passed, we now have a little over a month to prepare for the biggest awards show airing on March 2nd… the Academy Awards. And you know what that means, another edition of best and worst dressed. See you all then!
