Get Into the Holiday Spirit During Finals

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BC chapter.

Thanksgiving break was nice, but we have to admit that as much as we love BC, coming back only to dive into final exams is not something that we enjoy (especially when we are all trying to get into the holiday spirit). The Thanksgiving meals and home baking has got us all yearning to get through finals to return home for the holidays. The final exam period, however, is super stressful and has put a lot of strain on the joy of the holidays. Lucky for you, here is a guide to help you get into the holiday spirit even during the most dreaded part of the semester.

1) Listen to holiday music

Although finals are not cheery, holiday music is and can help pump up your spirits. Even try listening to holiday music while you’re studying, some songs can be calming and help you regain faith in your ability to crush your exam.

2) Turn your room into a winter wonderland

Nothing gets you more into the holidays than decorating a tree and setting up holiday decor. An artificial tree is perfect for a dorm room. Get together with your roommates and set up a yule log on your laptop while playing holiday music and decorate a tree. Every time you walk into your room you will be instantly happy with all of the holiday decorations.

3) Set up a gift exchange with your friends.

The holidays are all about giving. Set up a gift exchange with your friends and give yourself a study break to shop for them. Let your friends know how much you appreciate them and spread the spirit of giving.

4) Participate in the 25 Days of Christmas movie marathon

What better way to take a study break than to watch a movie? After a long hard day of studying, jump in bed and turn on Freeform to watch a happy holiday movie to lift your spirits.

5) Attend the tree lighting on campus

On December 6th CAB is hosting a tree lighting right in the O’neill Plaza. You don’t even have to leave campus to get into the holiday spirit. Take a study break to get together with the BC community and share the joy of the start of the holiday season.
