Get Fit Off Campus

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BC chapter.

I think we can all agree that BC is one of the healthiest college campuses in the country. The Plex is packed no matter what time of day, and there’s never a short line for any dining locations that serves a salad. Potential negative consequences aside, I feel very lucky to attend a school that makes it so easy to maintain a healthy lifestyle. The plex offers such a large variety of classes every day of the week, but sometimes you just need a change of scenery. Luckily, there are a ton of fantastic options between here and Boston just waiting to be checked out.

Soul Cycle

Unless you’ve been living under a rock you’ve definitely heard people raving about how amazing Soul Cycle is. With locations in Chestnut Hill and Back Bay, and a discount on your first ride, there’s nothing stopping you from starting your SoulJourney today!

Modern Barre

Located just a short walk up Comm Ave, Modern Barre gives you a way to try out barre-style classes in a small setting.

Pure Barre

You can take these iconic barre classes right in Coolidge Corner! Since it’s a five-minute walk from Trader Joes you can workout and do your grocery shopping all in one trip off campus!

Coolidge Corner Yoga

As if you needed another reason to go to Coolidge Corner. This studio offers over a dozen different variations of yoga classes with fantastic rates for new members and students.

Studio U

Studio U offers barre, yoga, pilates, dance, and boot-camp classes, and even offers students a rate for unlimited classes throughout the entire semester!

Flywheel

This workout brings technology into your average spin class. This high energy ride is complemented by the in-studio “TorqBoard” that displays the stats of every rider so you can see how you stack up. If that scares you, Flywheel gives you the option of turning this off on your bike.

Bikram Yoga Boston

Bikram yoga is the one class that the Plex doesn’t offer, so if yoga in a 104-degree room is for you, then take the trip to Back Bay and break a sweat!
