Fun things to do when it’s raining

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BC chapter.

Trust me, every time it’s raining I sing, “Rain rain go away, come again another day” because I would rather it snow a foot than rain the whole day. However, this fall especially, there is no avoiding the muggy, dreary days; that is why I have come up with a couple of fun things to do when it is raining.

   1. Spa Day

A rainy day calls for a warm shower and a little bit of pampering. Maybe get a massage or your nails done. If you don’t want to pay for spa services you can always bring them to your dorm by doing face masks with your roommates or painting each other’s nails. Anything to make you feel refreshed.

    2. Go to the Movies

The movies are always a staple thing to do on a rainy day. There are also a bunch of great movies out right now and “A Star is Born” is my new favorite.  Take your friends and enjoy a nice bag of popcorn and your favorite candy and it will turn your rainy day into a fun one. If you don’t feel like venturing out, there is nothing wrong with putting a movie on from Netflix and snuggling up on the couch or your bed with some microwavable popcorn.

    3. Bake Cookies

I know this might be hard for some college students because they don’t have access to a full kitchen but what me and my roommates discovered is that we can bake with our toaster oven. The other day we made cookies and cinnamon buns. A delicious treat and a fun activity.

     4. Spend the Day at the Aquarium or a Museum

Boston has multiple museums like the Museum of Fine Arts, the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, and the Boston’s Children Museum (just to name a couple). These would be the perfect destination because it is an indoor activity and you could see some really cool art. Also, I recommend the Boston Aquarium to anyone because it’s interactive and exciting to see the different creatures/animals.

     5. Go Bowling

When I was younger, bowling was always a rainy day activity. It takes up a large chunk of the day and you could also get lunch or dinner at the alley and make a day out of it!

Enjoy your rainy day!
