As of September 22nd, fall is officially upon us. The changing of the season means it’s time for apple picking, hay rides, pumpkin spice lattes, apple crisp, and – most importantly – fall fashion! Here are some things in autumn wardrobes that I can’t wait to wear:
1. Boots/Booties
I have a mini heart attack every time I see a cute pair of booties in the fall. Boots and booties are my absolute favorite type of shoes. There are so many options: short tan booties, black fringe booties, Frye boots, cowboy boots, Hunter boots, combat boots, etc. Any of these shoes add major style points to a fall outfit.
2. Vests
I am a huge believer in vests. There are so many different colors and styles that allow for so many unique and flavorful fall outfits. Some of my personal favorite types of vests are fur vests, patterned vests, and statement color vests. There are so many ways to incorporate them into an outfit, making them vital aspects in any fall wardrobe.
3. Fleeces
When the weather starts to cool down, that means people will be breaking out their North Face, Patagonia, Vineyard Vines, and any other types of fleece jackets to combat the dropping temperatures. I love these types of jackets because they’re so casual and go with anything. With so many designs and patterns, it’s easy for anyone to find one they like.
4. Sweaters
I am SO happy that sweater weather is finally back. I’m a huge believer that a sweater is one of the greatest things on the planet. With so many styles, colors, fits, and materials, it’s so incredibly easy to find cute, fashionable sweaters. No fall wardrobe is complete without them!
5. Dark/Black Nail Polish
Even though I usually always opt for a dark nail polish color, no matter what season, autumn means that dark nail colors are more socially acceptable. What looks more badass than black nails? Absolutely nothing. A woman with dark nails can take over the world, if you ask me. The recent opening of the MiniLuxe on the Street is the perfect opportunity to get that fresh fall manicure.
6. Scarves
Honestly I feel like this one doesn’t even need an explanation. Who doesn’t love wearing scarves in the fall??? I’ve been anxiously awaiting breaking out my fun scarves since I had to put them away in the spring. They’re so easy to wear and they always look cute.
7. THE RETURN OF LEGGINGS
If I could wear leggings to every event for the rest of my life, I think I’d do it. The return of fall means the return of leggings, and my wardrobe couldn’t be more excited. With ways to dress them up or down, leggings are perfect for any fall outfit.
As we get deeper and deeper into the fall season, I’m so excited to see all of the fall fashion elements around campus. Happy fall, BC!
