Dos and Don’ts of Your First Home Football Game

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BC chapter.

Do any of you returning collegiettes wish that someone had shown you the ropes of BC football games during your first semester?  I know I do, which is why I have provided our new collegiettes with some helpful dos and don’ts for the first home game of the 2013 football season.  I hope they help!

Do eat a good breakfast – it’s going to be a long day.

Don’t sit in a dorm room.

Do meet everyone you can.

Don’t think you’re too cool to wear a Superfan shirt.

Do go to a tailgate!  Go to Shea Field.  You might just eat the best burger of your life.

Do learn the fight songs and cheers, but…

Don’t try to chant “Eagles on the Warpath.”

Don’t bother getting to the game early – there will still be spots.

Do eat a hot dog!  Seriously, you’re missing out if you don’t.

Don’t bring a purse.  Put your phone/ID/ticket in your pocket.

Don’t expect to sit down at all.

Do try to get tossed after a touchdown.

Do try to get a picture with Baldwin.

Most importantly, GO TO THE GAME.  The home opener is always such a blast.  You don’t want to look back and regret not going to your first football game and missing out.

Do appreciate that you have four full years of BC games to go to.  The rest of us are green with envy that we don’t have as much time.  Soak up everything that BC has to offer, especially the home football games where so many amazing memories are made!

See you at the next game!

HC xox,
Briana

Not sure if this is a serious do or a serious don’t.  Just remember to have fun!
