Cynical Girls View on Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is fun and all but there are a few things that people, like myself, who have an aversion to most things involving affection, cannot stand. There’s something about hearts and confetti, V-day dates, mushy movies, and love notes that make my skin crawl. This was only fun in elementary school when you got a pre-made Valentine from each of your classmates (with a piece of candy on it…lucky you, it was Fun Dip…also emphasis on the candy… THAT was the good stuff). Now, these are the things that make me not love Valentines Day as much:  

1. Conversation hearts taste bad

1. People who post long social media novels about their S.O’s

1. Red Roses….

1. PDA

1. Deeply Romantic gestures

1. Dressing up for a date

Here’s to missing the old school valentines!
