After what seemed like an eternal winter, it’s finally starting to feel like spring. Don’t get me wrong- I love a good snow day as much as the next person- but I think we can all agree we’ve had enough of it for a while. The only problem is, even with these rising temperatures, mounds of snow still cover campus. If it were up to me, here are the top ten ways I would get rid of the remaining snow and finally start enjoying spring.

  • Melt it with a hairdryer. Warning: Wear Hunters while doing this to avoid the large puddles.
  • Put all of it in a large ditch. When it finally melts, we’ll have a new swimming pool.
  • Make snow cones for the whole campus. It might not be sanitary, but it really could work.
  • Build a civilization of snow people on Brighton Campus’ field.
  • Send it to people you hate. I did not make this up. It is an actual thing that you could be doing right now.
  • Speaking of people you hate, throw snowballs at them.
  • Host a campus-wide bonfire. You enjoy s’mores while the snow melts away.
  • Keep posting pictures of it on Instagram. The snow will get so annoyed it will just leave on its own.
  • Walk around campus eating really salty chips.  The salt on the crumbs you will inevitably drop will melt the snow.
  • If none of this works, start walking around with a snow blower. It won’t get rid of all the snow, but if you can clear a large enough path in front of you and refuse to look back, it’ll seem like all the snow has disappeared.

I am a Political Science major and Women's and Gender Studies minor at Boston College. I am an RA on campus and am involved in the Student Admissions Program. Since I am from Florida, I can legitimately say that I love long walks on the beach. I also love getting lost in a world fabricated by a novel, there is honestly nothing better.
