Christmas in New York

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BC chapter.

If you live around New York City, you know how hectic it can get this time of year. If you are stuck on what to do with friends and family leading up to Christmas, here are some fun activities to add to your New York holiday bucket list:

1. Bryant Park Winter Village: With an array of small shops and all types of festive food, its a great place to get into the holiday spirit.

2. Rolf’s German Restaurant: Be warned, their prices are pretty steep, so this may be a place to try to go with family rather than friends (but its worth it for the Christmas decor.)

3. Refinery Rooftop: A super nice rooftop bar throughout the year, but the festive decorations for the holidays make it a great place to grab a drink before a show or dinner in the city.

4. The Rockettes: If you have never been to the Christmas Spectacular, you are really missing out. They have show times throughout the day, and it can be a fun way to spend a weekday afternoon over break with friends or family (without worrying about the large weekend crowds.)

5. Rockefeller Christmas Tree: Although it goes without saying, going to see the tree is a classic. Check out all of the store front decorations on your walk over, and wait in line for ice skating for a Christmas overload.

Happy Holidays!

Hi! I'm Shannon Brink and I'm currently a freshman at BC. I'm from a small town in New Jersey, and I love being outdoors and traveling with friends and family. I'm the youngest of three, and living in a male dominated house where football typically takes over the dinner conversation, it's refreshing to have an outlet to talk about things that genuinely interest me and are relevant to my life as a clueless freshman trying to learn the ropes of college.
