8 Tell-tale Signs He Went to an All-Boys School

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BC chapter.

1. He travels in a pack.

Unaccustomed to being surrounded by girls, he will typically feel more comfortable traveling in packs of 5–20 guys. It’s nice to know people, but try getting into a mod party with that large of a group…

2. He likes to cuddle.

It doesn’t have to be with you. In fact, he might actually like cuddling with his friends better. But most likely, if he went to an all-boys high school, he gets his cuddle on.

3. He likes to draw inappropriate things.

Maybe it’s because he was surrounded by guys all week, every week, but he has an obsession with drawing inappropriate things everywhere! On white boards, in our notebooks, on a foggy window, on his friends’ faces… everywhere.

4. He’s not afraid to be silly.

Whether belting out his favorite song or telling a really funny joke, he’s not afraid to act crazy at times. He didn’t worry about being embarrassed in front of girls for four years, so he’s gotten used to just being himself at all times.

5. He was probably in the choir or on the debate team.

He’s probably unusually good at singing or winning an argument, because almost every guy I knew in high school that went to an all-boys, Catholic school was in the choir or on the debate team.

6. He takes classes in college based on recommendations from older guys… and has all the tests and notes from that class as well.

This guy walks into class on the first day looking abnormally confident. This may be because he already has the notes and test for that class in tow. One of the best parts about going to a school where you know the older guys from your high school is that they pass their “knowledge” on to you.

7. Talking to girls was a challenge at first for him.

To say talking to girls was a bit of struggle when first coming to college would be an accurate start. We’ve all painfully watched as he tries to figure out what he’s doing and go in for that awkward hug at the end.

8. He loves to dance.

Maybe it stems from the excitement of a coed dance that they experienced in high school, but trust me if he went to an all-boys, Catholic high school, he probably loves to bust a move (preferably by himself or accompanied by another all-boys, Catholic high school alum). When he hits the dance floor, watch out!
