5 Must-Have Summer Makeup Products

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BC chapter.

With the sun beaming on your face as you’re walking to your class in Gasson, you feel droplets of sweat slowly adding some unwanted shine to your face.  As you walk into the bathroom, you take a look in the mirror and think to yourself… EWWW!!  You realize your face looks as if you had just taken a lap in the pool and somehow forgot to jump into the shower after!  Some blotches of makeup have managed to stay on your face, but the rest seems to have disappeared.  Your mascara has enhanced not only your lashes, but also the entire area around your eyes.  So I guess the morning makeup has now turned into one disastrous makeover.  There’s probably only one question circling around in your mind: It’s not even summer yet…what am I going to do?!

Don’t sweat it!  I’m going to try to help you avoid this traumatic experience.  I have searched for the best sweat-proof makeup products that will not only leave your face looking radiant, but also protect you from those harmful rays!

Olay Moisturizer SPF 15

My friend’s dermatologist recommended this product to her.  This moisturizer not only keeps the skin hydrated, but also contains SPF 15 to shield your face from the sun.  You want to know why else this product is great?  It fits into any girl’s summer budget!  You can find Olay products at your local drug store.

Neutrogena Makeup Remover Wipes

These are hands down the most convenient makeup tool ever!  Whether you’ve just hopped out of the pool or gone for a summer run, these wipes will remove any dripping makeup so you can take a quick second to retouch yourself before heading out to grab some iced coffee with friends.  Hey, summertime means more time in the sun and less time for showering!

Physicians Formula Bronze Booster

For that sunkissed glow on your face, try this bronzer.  It provides an instant and lasting tan-boost.  This lightweight powder goes on smoothly for an even, healthy-looking glow.  It builds easily so you can achieve your desired level of bronze.  An added bonus: it’s formulated with glow activators that were created to help to bring out your skin’s own natural glow!

Clinique Moisture Tint SPF 15

Don’t want your pores to clog from all the summer sweat?  Skip wearing your usual foundation, and try a tinted moisturizer instead.  This product from Clinique is creamy, sheer, and fragrance-free.  You no longer need to apply two separate products in the morning because this acts as a moisturizer and a foundation!  Even though this product is on the expensive side for its size and amount, it’s definitely worth the splurge!

CoverGirl LashBlast Fusion Mascara

The LashBlast Fusion Mascara is the perfect combination of LashBlast length and LashBlast volume.  Before this product came out, you would have to pick between having longer lashes or voluminous ones.  But now you no longer have to choose and can use this one product to achieve the look you want!  This mascara is for everyday wear so it’s a must-have summer essential.  Also, don’t forget about the waterproof option!  You want to keep those beautiful lashes in tact both before you jump into the pool and when you come out.

These are only some of the great options out there.  Don’t be afraid to test out other wonderful products and share your finds with friends!  With that in mind…bring on the sweat and hello summer!
