*Quick Recap: In the season 2 finale, Eleanor, Chidi, Tahani, and Jason are sent back to Earth to try and live their lives well enough to earn a spot in The Good Place. Eleanor is seen watching Chidi’s speech online, while not remembering anything from her time in Michael’s neighborhood. She flies all the way to Australia to talk to him. In the last moment of season 2 we see Eleanor walking into Chidi’s office.
The Good Place is back for season three on Thursday nights on NBC. The series premiere picked up with Eleanor, Chidi, Tahani, and Jason back on Earth after encountering near death experiences in which they were saved by Michael. Michael, the one who got the foursome into this mess, goes down to Earth to meddle in their lives so they all end up together.
1. Chidi and Eleanor may not be soulmates
Eleanor travels all the way to Australia after watching Chidi’s speech online, yet Chidi falls for his colleague, Simone. Eleanor is even the one to convince to them to go out. Eleanor notices that both Chidi and Simone are into each other, so she coerces Chidi into asking Simone out. Are Chidi and Eleanor soulmates on Earth?
2. Chidi has an American accent.
Chidi speaks English in Australia, even though in season one we learn that his native language is French and everything he says is being translated into English for Eleanor. Chidi explains to Eleanor that he went to an American school, so his English is very good.
3. The Judge is not leaving Michael alone anytime soon.
Maya Rudolph’s portrayal of the Judge is amazing and not to be overlooked. However, Michael does not need The Judge checking up on him like she did in the first episode of Season 3. It will be interesting to see if she finds out that Michael has been down to Earth several times to intervene in the lives of Chidi, Eleanor, Tahani, and Jason.
4. Adam Scott is back.
Adam Scott returns as Trevor. In the preview for this week’s’ episode, we see Trevor go down to Australia for Chidi’s project on people who have had near death experiences. What will Trevor describe as his near death experience?
There are so many unanswered questions and many directions in which this season could go! It will be exciting to watch where Eleanor and her friends end up!
