2018 Grammys’ Best Dressed

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BC chapter.

When it comes to the Grammys, some look forward to the music, but for me, it is all about the fashion. At the Grammys, stars tend to take major fashion risks, so I eagerly wait to see who will wear something daring, who will wear something too daring, and who will make my jaw drop. Here are, in my opinion, the top 10 best red carpet looks at this year’s Grammy Awards.

10. Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus arrived at the 2018 Grammys looking grown-up and chic, which are words not typically used to describe her. The black velvet Jean Paul Gaultier jumpsuit gave Miley a sort of laid-back feel while still maintaining the formality of the event. But what really stood out in Miley’s outfit was the white rose she carried to represent the Time’s Up Movement.

9. Childish Gambino (Donald Glover)

Childish Gambino’s all-white Ermenegildo Zegna Couture attire made him stand out on the red carpet this year. He looked great, and the all-white brought a level of formality to his look.

8. Rick Ross

Rick Ross opted to wear a black patterned fur over his tuxedo that really brought his outfit to the next level. This added fur was extremely chic and gave him a certain air of power.

7. Ashanti

Ashanti shined in her Yas Couture by Elie Madi gown. The dress was covered in gold sparkles from head to toe, but personally, my favorite part about the gown was the skirt, which flared way out and gave a light and bouncy feel to the dress.

6. Julia Michaels

Julia Michaels looked stunning in a lavender Paolo Sebastian gown. Everything about this gown looked perfect on her: the deep-V neckline, the flowy skirt, and the bare arms, which allowed her to show off her tattoos. All around a great, girly look.

5.  Ne-Yo

Ne-Yo’s bright, velvet, mustard-colored blazer easily grabbed everyone’s attention. This bold look looked stunning on him, complete with a fedora and a Time’s Up white rose.

4. Janelle Monae

Janelle Monae was on trend this year by being one of many to wear a pantsuit to the 2018 Grammys. The floral details of this Dolce & Gabonna pantsuit created a beautiful balance between typically feminine florals and menswear. All around a great look.

3. Eve

Once again, we saw a powerful pantsuit on the red carpet. Personally, this Naeem Khan pantsuit worn by Eve was my favorite of all the pantsuits at the Grammys. The geometric shapes and the sequins made this pantsuit pop!

2. Chrissy Teigen and John Legend

Do these two ever not look adorable? The Grammys were no different for one of our favorite celebrity couples. Chrissy Teigen, who is five months pregnant might I add, looked stunning in a Yanina Couture gown. This dress was perfect for Chrissy’s current pregnant figure as it accentuated all of her beautiful curves – including that baby bump! The sequins of the dress glimmered next to her husband’s tasteful navy blue tuxedo. This couple once again rocked the red carpet.

1. SZA

SZA stunned! She looked amazing at her first red carpet appearance wearing an Atelier Versace FW17 dress with details including sequins, feathers, and tulle. The pale-blue color not only looked great with her skin tone, but gave her a truly angelic look. In my opinion, SZA won this year’s red carpet.

Honorable Mention: Cyndi Lauper

Cyndi Lauper might be the only person on the planet who could pull off this Moschino pantsuit with baby angels printed all over it. Because of this fact, she is an honorable mention on this list. Keep doing you, Cyndi!

These were my favorite looks from this year’s Grammy Awards! If you disagree with my list, feel free to comment below on who you think was best dressed!
