15 Reasons Why You Should Dress Up for Class

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BC chapter.

Some days, it is impossible to dress nicely.  Actually, though, it has been scientifically proven… by me.  But are there any upsides to putting in the extra effort?  After a careful analysis of every episode of How I Met Your Mother and the superiorly brilliant guidance by my life mentor, Barney Stinson, I have complied the ultimate list of reasons why you should try to dress up every day.

1.     Dressing your best makes you feel more confident.  Want to be awesome like this guy??

2.     Dressing nicely shows teachers that you take their classes seriously.

3.     Having a unique style shows off your personality.

4.     Fun accessories, like crazy bracelets or attention grabbing earrings, are a great conversation starter.

5.     It makes way more sense to wear those amazing heels during the week than on the weekend so that everyone can see them…and can actually remember them the next day.

6.     There’s no better confidence boost than having people stop you to tell you they like your outfit.

7.     Attire is a statement.  This is your chance to tell everyone something about yourself.  WWBSD? (What would Barney Stinson do?)

8.     Now is the perfect time to try out different styles and trends.

9.     Got a little sloppy this weekend?  This is opportunity to show everyone how put together you really are.

10.  You never know when you’re going to meet someone important.

11.  You never know when you’re going to run into someone you wish you hadn’t.

12.   Running into someone you wish you hadn’t while dressed better than they are is awesome…just saying… Do you really want to let Barney down?

13.  Why only wear your “nice” clothes on special occasions?

14.  People will take you more seriously.

15.  Her Campus BC is out in full force snapping pictures for our new fashion blog.  Dress your best and we might just post a picture of you!

You’re welcome, everyone.
