Now that it’s winter in Boston, we’re bracing ourselves for the bitter cold that makes us want to stay holed up in our cozy, warm rooms around the clock.  But where’s the fun in that?  There are only so many Christmas movies on the BC channels (ABC Family 25 Days of Christmas, I miss you!!) and a limited number of Christmas cookies to be baked.  So what do we do?  Bundle up and go out, of course!  There’s only one problem with that, though: there’s a good chance you’ll lose, misplace, or forget your coat during a crazy night of Ugly Christmas Sweater party hopping.

The remedy?  10 Easy Ways to Not Lose Your Coat:

1.  Wear a coat you don’t care about or one that’s easily replaceable.

2.  When you get to the party, hide your coat in a place no one will be going (the microwave, oven, washer, dryer, etc.) as long as it’s not absolutely disgusting inside.

3.  Tie your coat to all of your friends’ coats for one long coat chain.  No one is going to go through the effort to take it apart, so you won’t have to worry about it getting stolen.

4.  Tie it around your waist a-la 1990.  So stylish.

5.  Tie it around your neck for a prep-tastic fashion statement.

6.  Wear a “liquid coat” and just “replace” it when you get to the next party.

7.  Host the party yourself and lock your valuables away in your bedroom (coats included).

8.  If you know the party hosts, ask them to put your coat in a locked room so that you don’t lose it.  That way, if you forget it, you can always get it back later.

9.  Don’t wear any type of coat and freeze.  Just kidding, don’t actually do this, but I can guarantee you won’t lose your coat this way.

10.  Leave your coat on and overheat.  Again, not the smartest move, but if you’re really worried, hold onto your coat either by wearing it or sticking it in a tote bag that you keep with you at all times.
