With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, I couldn’t help but think about my love for The Beatles. Everything about The Beatles reminds me of my childhood, which is funny because this legendary band was most definitely not the go-to album of my generation. Although I loved bopping around to any song by Hilary Duff (her album Metamorphosis was REVOLUTIONARY), I remember spending a lot of my time dancing to songs like Help!, Lady Madonna, Day Tripper, and Can’t Buy Me Love in my living room. I remember driving to a bakery in Annapolis with the entire Beatles’ album, 1, playing the whole way there. I remember patiently waiting for my favorite track to play (yes, this was during a time before any aux cord was manufactured). I remember one of my brothers singing (but actually yelling) every “Jude” in the song “Hey Jude.” Because Valentine’s Day is about a week away, I thought I could put my Beatles nostalgia to use, and suggest a few of their love songs to add to your February playlist. Here are five favorite songs from The Beatles’ 1 album that will boost your Valentine’s Day mood.

Come Together (Okay, so this song isn’t exactly a love song, but it’s too good to neglect. I think this song even covers love in a big picture sense.)

Enjoy your Valentine’s Day/Galentine’s Day/and any other name you may call it! XOXO
