Tips & Tricks for Insta Feed Perfection

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Ball State chapter.

Whether it be the color scheme of the post, the filter, the outfit, pose, or location. I always save posts that catch my eye or ones that fit my aesthetic that way I have content ideas to recreate. New users who visit your profile are more likely to become followers when they see that you’re on top of a cute feed and know what to expect from you. Current followers will be more likely to engage in a fresh eye-catching feed too. Here’s my best tips to create the feed of your dreams!

Content Focus

My first tip is to make sure you have a foundation to base your feed content on. Whether your specialty is posting selfies, your cute Outfit of the Day, or maybe your travels, try to stick with a focus that your followers can expect to see when your posts arrive on their timelines.

Not only will having content focus make your feed look absolutely adorable, it will help Instagram set your algorithm too! Why is this important? Instagram sets parameters for users based on their target content along with the demographics of their active followers (people who regularly like, comment, and repost your content). Having a set algorithm will help other followers find you on the explore page, which is a huge benefit.

Color Scheme

This is arguably my favorite tip because I love colors and having color schemes picked out for anything. Whether it be the color scheme of my room, the pens I use to take notes, or my outfit for the day. Color. Scheme. Matters.

This is especially true when it comes to an Instagram feed. It’s super simple though. Keep an eye out for colors that fit who you are and what your posts represent, or maybe color schemes of other users who fit your style and incorporate that palette into your feed! This will make your feed more pleasing to the eye and will increase follower engagement as well.

Mood Board Inspiration

My last tip is the easiest of them all. Find your feed inspiration. I always find myself aimlessly scrolling through Instagram until I land on a post that catches my eye because the aesthetic is so pleasing. That’s when I decide to save the post or screenshot it because I know I’ll want to refer back to it for inspiration.

Now that you’ve learned what tips can help create an Instagram aesthetic worthy of your goals, you’re ready to start editing the cutest fall pics for the season and every season after!
