During a Visiting Artist Lecture in the Arts and Journalism Building on Tuesday, Nov. 17, Susan Klein spoke to students about works of art and her experience in the industry.

“Every piece of work has the potential to illustrate a unique idea,” Klein said.

An Assistant Professor of Painting at the College of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina, Klein earned her MFA in 2004 from University of Oregon and her BFA from University of New Hampshire in 2001. Her work has been exhibited at PDX Contemporary Art in Portland, Oregon; Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan; the University of Ulsan, South Korea; Brooklyn Artists Gym New York; the Lake George Arts Project in New York; and other spaces both nationally and internationally.

“Nothing is holding you back from expressing your dreams except yourself,” Klein said. “Art is anything you make it out to be.”
