The Signs as Ball State Landmarks

College campuses – they are FULL of beautiful architecture, captivating statues, and lush plants. These things are what make a college feel like home. 

Ball State University is home to many different buildings, landmarks, and hidden gems that make this campus exciting to live near. Whether you’re studying at Bracken Library or passing by the Bell Tower, this campus harbors many structures full of personality and history.

Here’s what building or landmark you are according to your zodiac sign!

Aries (March 21 – April 19): Worthen Arena

Aries, you are all about winning! You’re energetic, competitive, and always willing to show off that fire inside you. You set goals and work to achieve them. Aries’ may seem too blunt and have a fiery temper, but it’s just that fierce fire in you. You are Worthen Arena. Just like the many sports games played in the arena, you are full of passion and absolutely captivating. 

 

Taurus (April 20 – May 20): Rec Center

Ambitious, strong, and in touch with your physical side, you are powerful. As a Taurus, you know what you want and have an intense internal drive. You’re also incredibly social and value trust and honesty. The Taurus is the Rec Center. Taurus, you’re all about getting those gains and are willing to put in hard work into any activity you’re a part of

 

Gemini (May 21 – June 20): Student Center

Gemini’s are the life of the party! As a Gemini, you’re a great communicator, witty, optimistic, and could get along with anyone. You like staying busy and are great at multitasking. You’re the Student Center! The Student Center is home to so many fun events, like Late Nite, which fills the building with students. A room full of people is a Gemini’s cup of tea. 

 

Cancer (June 21 – July 22): Frog Baby

Emotional and caring, Cancer’s are a friend for life. As a Cancer, you are incredibly loyal and generous. You’re wholesome and sweet, just like Frog Baby. Frog Baby is arguably Ball State’s cutest statue. Frog Baby is also surrounded by water and nature, which is the perfect environment for a Cancer, considering your love for nature.

 

Leo (July 23 – August 22): Bell Tower 

Leo, you are loud and proud. Though you may sometimes come off as arrogant, it’s just your dominant energy. You’re a natural born leader and you’re all about standing up for what you believe in. You are the Bell Tower. The Bell tower stands at 150 feet tall in the middle of campus. The bell tower also has 48 bells in it, forcing the chimes to be heard from far and wide, just like a Leo’s loud voice.

 

Virgo (August 23 – September 22): Beneficence

Sophisticated, trustworthy, and one inspired by beauty and love, Virgos enjoy the finer things in life. Virgos are the keeper of secrets, which make them exceptional friends. The Virgo is Beneficence. Beneficence is an iconic statue on Ball State’s campus, looking classy and full of grace. Those two qualities perfectly describe a Virgo, making the two a perfect pair.

 

Libra (September 23 – October 22): The Planetarium

Libras are dreamers. They value harmony, alone time, and kindness. They love big groups of people and are all about compromise and mediation. They have big imaginations and are known for having their heads in the cloud. So what’s more dreamier than Ball State’s planetarium? With beautiful images of the constellations on the ceiling, the Libra is most at home gazing up at the “stars” at the planetarium. 

 

Scorpio (October 23 – November 21): Bracken Library

Scorpio’s are known for being intense and full of knowledge. They’re authentic to their core and often don’t care what people think about them. They have a deep sense of self and are open to debate and intellectual conversation. They’re honest and sometimes have a cold exterior. Scorpio, you are Bracken Library. Bracken Library houses thousands of books and eager students. A Scorpion would fit right in, and would feel most comfortable on the second floor, where small conversation is allowed and encouraged. 

 

Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21): Naked Lady 

Open-hearted, and spirited, a Sagittarius is always up for an adventure. They’re independent and strong-willed. The Sagittarius is the Naked Lady statue, which can be found on the main floor of Bracken Library. The Naked Lady is with two deer and appears serene. This fits well with the vibe of a Sagittarius, who likes nature and has a strong but peaceful spirit. 

 

Capricorn (December 22 – January 19): The Business Building

Capricorn, you are a natural rule-follower. You’re analytical, neat, and intelligent. You pay attention to detail and love structure. You’re also very good at saving and investing. You’re ready for business, which makes you the Business Building. Full of future business professionals, a Capricorn fits the mold of a building full of students learning about stocks and the market.

 

Aquarius (January 20 – February 18): The Teachers College

Aquarians are known for being unique. No two Aquarians are the same, but share similar values of wanting to make the world a better place. They believe in social justice and seeing the best in people. They are quirky and sincere, just like the Teachers College. The Teachers College is the spot on campus where students take various classes ranging from topics like history and education, learning about the past and the future. The classes taken in that building are “all about the bigger picture,” as an Aquarius would say. 

 

Pisces (February 19 – March 20): DOMA

Sensitive daydreamers, Pisces, you are known for feeling things deeply. You have a strong moral compass and often have strong gut reactions. You value art and music, making you the David Owsley Museum of Art. DOMA houses several beautiful works of art, that an Pisces would enjoy observing.
