The Zodiac Signs as Staircases Across Augie Campus

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Augustana chapter.

If you’re an Augie student, everyday is leg day. I’m not talking about walking back and forth through the Quad, but the amount of steps you must climb. No matter where you go, there is bound to be a staircase in your path. There’s no need to worry about that Freshman 15 when you can get thunder thighs from walking flights of stairs everyday.

So I decided to compile a list of the staircases on campus and determine which zodiac signs they represent. After much “elaborate” research, this is what I produced.

Thomas Tredway Library Steps

Virgo, Libra, Cancer

Don’t let their steepness intimidate you—these stairs really aren’t that hard to climb. The brick pattern gives them a friendly vibe too. Sure they get slippery now and then, but throw them some salt and you can expect a safe walk down the steps. Always bumbling with people.

The Olin Stairs

Scorpio, Taurus

At first glance, the Olin stairs look gorgeous sitting under the trees. Perfect for an Insta pic or Snapchat story captioned “Neature”. You don’t realize how brutal the climb is until you’ve reached the summit and feel the aching pain in your legs.

The Hanson Spiral Staircase

Aries, Sagittarius

Shrouded by adventure, this spiral staircase is a reflection of ambition. Because anyone who can scale all four floors can fight.

The Old Main Steps

Gemini, Aquarius

If there’s anything to say about the front Old Main front stairs, it’s that they are the most fashionable of all the stair cases. The concrete steps match nicely with the dome. A clean look and organized composition. Clearly a place of intellect.

Abbey Art Studio Stairs

Capricorn, Pisces, Leo

Probably the hipster of the staircases. No one really knows where they are. The low traffic gives the stairs a sense of tranquility. A good place for daydreaming. Maybe that’s because of the creativity seeping out of the art studios.
